While researching her family tree, Laura discovered an ancestor's incredible story of heroism and survival, which inspired her to co-write the historical drama "Sultana," based on the greatest maritime disaster in U.S. history. She hopes the feature film will get a major studio release to benefit the Sultana Disaster Museum and honor those who were aboard the steamboat. 

She has also written comedy features, tv pilots, and co-written shorts, with more projects in the works.
