April 2021 #100screenplays
It's been such a challenging time for all, so I hope you're doing well friends.
I am happy to report two of my favorite people--my husband and my mother-in-law--have had their first dose of the vaccine and by the end of this month, they'll have the second. My kids and I are on the waiting list, so hopefully we'll soon follow. It's great to see the numbers declining in Illinois, but I hope we'll all stay mindful of public distancing and wearing masks.
For mental health's sake, I highly recommend getting a walk in nature, taking naps, drinking extra water, and watching happy stuff. It's definitely helped me.
Last month I started yearning for romantic comedy...seems I'm on a roll with my April list.
- Sleepless in Seattle
- Pretty Woman
- There's Something About Mary
- Shakespeare in Love
- The Princess Bride
- This is 40
- She's Out of My League
- Silver Linings Playbook
- Crazy Stupid Love
- My Best Friend's Wedding
- 10 Things I Hate About You
#100Screenplays 2021 reading challenge by the numbers:
Total yet-to be produced scripts: 13
Total produced scripts: 46
2021 Grand total: 59
My thoughts:
I'm definitely on a mission to revive the 90s rom-com, but add in really smart humor. I love witty dialogue and comedy that messes with the audience's cognitive biases.
