About the writer: Tony Kushner has collaborated on multiple projects with director Stephen Spielberg, as well as several books with children's author/illustrator Maurice Sendak. He's also written several critically acclaimed plays.

Why I love their work: Musical, historical drama, children's lit, and biographical drama? I love it when a writer refuses to be boxed into one medium or genre. He's a Pulitzer winning playwright, author, and gifted screenwriter. His stories are emotional, immersive, rich experiences for the audience. He's in a class with William Goldman and there's no stopping him. I can't wait to see what he does next.
