March 2021 #100screenplays

I've been working from home as a writer since 2013, so when everything shutdown last year I didn't feel much change initially. If anything, I had more work for the first several months.

But here we are a year later, and if I'm being honest, I've hit a wall in a strange new way. Usually when I work too much, I take a big break and go to the movies, go to a concert or live comedy show, or take a road trip--and when I reached my "all work and no play" limit, that's when it all caught up to me.

I'm incredibly grateful that my family has stayed healthy. But man, I miss over paying for movie concessions. I miss concerts. I miss live comedy. I started yearning for the 90s, and, well, here's my March list of scripts.

  1. Ace Ventura: Pet Detective
  2. Benny & Joon
  3. The Big Sick
  4. Bridesmaids
  5. High Fidelity
  6. It's Complicated
  7. Juno
  8. Kate & Leopold
  9. The lovebirds
  10. Gross Pointe Blank
  11. My Big Fat Greek Wedding
  12. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2

#100Screenplays 2021 reading challenge by the numbers:

Total yet-to be produced scripts: 10

Total produced scripts: 35

2021 Grand total: 45

Thoughts:

Don't watch live concert footage, it will only make me sad.

Comedy specials are good (better than the zoom comedy I've stopped performing in) but live and in-person will be even sweeter after we're all vaccinated.

I think I've decided I'm on a mission to revive the rom-com.

Sometimes I'm serious, sometimes I'm silly. Any scripts referenced are for educational purposes only. (My lawyer made me say that part.)
